Our history
The beginnings
On April 16, 1930 in a small village in the province of Samos (Lugo) José Parada Río was born.
He started working very early, since at the age of 6 he became responsible for carrying and caring for the livestock in the mountains. Only a few years later (1941), he began working for the Lugo Provincial Council digging holes and planting trees. However, it was not until the time of going to Compulsory Military Service that his life took a turn and he found his true calling.

When he arrived in Cabo Silleiro (Bayonne) and after three months of training, he positioned as head of the canteen. A few months later he became the company's cook. Once his military service was over, he decided to leave Galicia and settle in Barcelona; as some of his sisters had already done.

Hello Barcelona
Just arriving in Barcelona, he started working as a waiter in a bar, where he stayed for 6 months.
After that stage, he joined the staff of the Philips company, manufacturing fluorescent lights, combining it with another job, in which he made lamps and placed them in houses. His goal was to save as much money as possible to fulfill his dream of working for himself.
He knew that his vocation was in the kitchen and his goal was to open his own business; for which he had been working so hard. That moment came in 1960, when he and his wife Luisa decided to rent a bar on Grases Street; which they called Parada in honor of his surname.
Parada
The beginnings were not easy, but with many hours of work and help from the family, they managed to get ahead. Until today, 60 years later, where we find three generations fighting every day with enthusiasm to continue with the project.
